Guardrail and Handrail Inspection, Testing & Certification
Guardrails and handrails are commonly used to provide a collective edge protection for safely Working at Height.
Our highly skilled teams of operatives not only test and inspect your Guardrail systems; they will also thoroughly check that the installed systems are suitable for your users’ maintenance requirements and check correct PPE is used.
Using specialist equipment that is regularly checked and calibrated our engineers test/inspect all of your working at height assets to ensure they’re safe and compliant in accordance with the latest relevant standards.
Guardrails serve as a fall prevention solution, providing safety to workers using ladders or scaffolding and need compliance testing at least once a year.
The Working at Height Regulations (WAHR) 2005 & The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) 1998 both state that such equipment should be inspected & maintained by a competent person; manufacturers suggest this should be a frequency not exceeding 12 months.
Altus Safety provides a full inspection, testing, certification and maintenance service for existing working at height equipment. Altus Safety test and inspect freestanding and guardrails and handrails in line with BS 13700:2021 and PUWER 1998.
